What is Dysport®?
Dysport® is similar to Botox® in the way it helps reduce certain types of wrinkles that are caused by muscle contraction in the forehead and around the eyes. The active ingredient in Dysport® is botulinum toxin that temporarily paralyzes the muscles. Although Dysport® and Botox® work in a similar way, Dysport® may be a better option for some patients.

How does Dysport® work?
The botulinum toxin in Dysport® works on certain facial muscles to temporarily paralyze them. Once this happens, you no longer contract the muscles when you use certain facial expressions. This allows the skin to relax, which may soften your lines and wrinkles.
Am I a candidate for Dysport®?
Dysport may be the right injectable anti-aging treatment for you if you have:
- Horizontal creases on your forehead
- Fine lines at the corners of your eyes
- Vertical lines between your eyebrows
If Dr. Horton determines that sagging skin is the cause of your lines and wrinkles, Dysport® is most likely not the best option. She may recommend another injectable treatment.
What to expect from Dysport®
Dr. Horton administers Dysport® using a fine-gauge needle. Several injections are made along the appropriate muscles. Treatment takes 30 to 60 minutes. Follow-up treatments may take less time.
How long is the recovery after a Dysport® treatment?
Dysport® requires no recovery period. You are able to return to your normal schedule after the appointment. We recommend that you avoid any strenuous activities for a few days. You should not rub the area or lay down for at least 12 hours. You may notice some minor swelling, tenderness and bleeding at each injection site. These symptoms may last up to three days.

Dysport® treatments are cosmetic, so your medical insurance will not cover the cost. We accept payment by cash, checks and major credit cards. You may qualify for financing through CareCredit® and LendingUSA.
